Clean but quite basic rooms, food is good in the morning, nice breakfast buffet but when eating dinner I was disappointed as the cook tries to create new combinations and thus the (expensive) food becomes quite strange - quite different tastes at a time but the overall taste is lacking. Has its own beach with very well manicured lawns.Despite the unrest in the country this hotel was hidden away by the side of the Lake Kivu. Do not expect every luxury but you can relax in good size rooms. Il cibo al ristorante è generalmente buono, estremamente cari tutti gli extras e i drinks (2 dollari per una bottiglietta d'acqua da 500 cl), d'altra parte in Congo tutto quello che arriva da fuori è caro e anche l'acqua mineral arriva dall'Uganda. The best crème brûlée i have ever tasted.

L'albergo appartiene a un signore belga di 80 anni, nato in RDC, che ha visto passare il colonialismo, l'indipendenza, Mobutu, Kabila senior, Kabila junior, il genocidio nel vicinissimo Rwanda che ha portato in Kivu centinaia di migliaia di rifugiati...insomma uno che ne ha viste di tutti i colori e per averle superate tutte deve avere una bella scorza: puo' non apparire il massimo della simpatia a prima istanza (il conventioal tourist che si aspetta un warm welcome resterà deluso), ma è un uomo estremamente interessante, con cui è un piacere passare qualche ora a chiacchierare della storia del Congo.
Hotel was clean (bedding, toilet, etc.) Own or manage this property? Would definitely return and stay here again.Was last in these parts in 2004 and while the rest has gone to the dogs with crumbling infrastructure and ugly buildings, this place looks better than before and is well preserved.
